Abstract

Achieving a model-centric view of your engineering data is the first step towards model-based systems engineering (MBSE). In this session, we’ll share how we help organizations understand data in their legacy tool (IBM® DOORS®) and then determine how to best transform the shape and size of that data into a model-based framework (Jama Connect®). We’ll also provide steps to create a business case for why moving from a legacy data ecosystem to a more consistent, scalable, and compliant data model can directly influence proper decision-making, reduce costs, increase traceability, and improve development efficiencies. In this presentation we will cover:

  • - What is meant by a Model-Driven Systems Engineering data architecture
  • - How to measure and compare conformity to MBSE from different dimensions
  • - Scale
  • - Complexity
  •   - Consistency
  • - Compliance

- How to convert MBSE diagnostic into a business case for change
